A visibility problem before it is a conversion problem.
When OSCAR launched in the UK, it needed to become more than a new app people could download. It needed to become a brand Londoners recognised.
Launching a new consumer app into an established market is a visibility problem first. OSCAR needed to introduce itself to London and establish familiarity quickly, targeting homeowners and busy professionals aged 25–54.
The campaign needed to make OSCAR feel present in the city, not hidden behind another digital ad competing for attention on a phone screen.

Why OOH
Seen in everyday life, not only on a phone.
“We wanted people to see OSCAR in everyday life rather than just another advert on their phone.”
That is where out-of-home earns its place. Instead of waiting for consumers to open an app, scroll a feed or search for a service, OSCAR was placed directly into the environments where Londoners were already spending time.
The Tube
Frequency and repeated exposure during everyday journeys on the Northern, Elizabeth, Jubilee and Central lines.
The street
High-profile 6-sheets around major London Underground destinations, plus Overground billboards that extended the footprint beyond the Underground.
The media strategy
Reach and repetition, not a single format.
Rather than relying on one environment, the campaign used different places to give OSCAR both reach and repetition.
1,100
Tube car panels
Northern, Elizabeth, Jubilee and Central lines. High-frequency exposure on everyday journeys.
40
Static 6-sheets
Bond Street, King’s Cross, Tottenham Court Road, Oxford Street and Piccadilly Circus.
8
Overground billboards
Extended the campaign beyond the Underground and strengthened the wider city footprint.
The result was not a token presence in London. OSCAR was built into the transport environment at meaningful scale, with the media mix designed to deliver repeated exposure rather than a one-off glance.

The creative idea
Humour, built like an online review.
OSCAR supplied the creative concept. Three executions used the familiar language and visual cues of online reviews to create funny, slightly uncomfortable stories around everyday home-service problems.
That approach suited out-of-home. The audience did not need a long explanation. A quick read delivered the setup, the punchline and the OSCAR proposition. Instead of looking like a conventional service advert, the executions felt closer to the comments and reviews people already recognise.
In a busy Tube environment, that distinction matters. The creative had to work quickly, and the humour gave people a reason to stop, look twice and remember the brand.
Tube car panel
Tube Car Panels (interior)
One of the 558 panels running across the Northern, Elizabeth, Jubilee and Central lines, where commuters have minutes to read a full punchline.
Platform panel
London Underground Corridors/Platforms
High dwell time on the platform, with the creative built to read as an online review rather than a conventional service advert.
Digital panel
Clapham Junction Station
A retail and commuter panel that carried the same review execution, extending the campaign beyond the Underground estate.
ROADSIDE BILLBOARD
DOOH Roadside
Roadside scale for the same creative, giving OSCAR reach outside the transport network during its two week launch.
Loud! OOH’s role.
OSCAR owned the creative idea. Loud! OOH turned that idea into a scaled London Underground campaign, selecting a media mix that could deliver broad exposure. The principle was simple: make the brand visible where Londoners already are, combining high-frequency transport media with prominent roadside and pedestrian-facing locations.
The result
10,200,000 impacts in two weeks.
For a brand entering the UK market, that gave OSCAR a substantial first burst of visibility across some of London’s busiest transport environments.

The campaign delivered what it was designed to deliver: scale, visibility and repeated exposure in London. Campaign details and media delivery figures are based on information supplied by Loud! OOH.
Why the campaign worked
01
The media had scale
1,100 Tube car panels, 40 static 6-sheets and eight Overground billboards created a substantial footprint.
02
The audience fitted the environment
London homeowners and busy professionals were reached during real journeys and time spent in major London locations.
03
The creative earned attention
Humour and recognisable review-style storytelling gave people a reason to look twice.
04
The formats worked together
Frequency-led transport media sat alongside prominent 6-sheet and billboard locations, so a new app felt present beyond the phone screen.
OSCAR didn’t quietly arrive in the UK. It showed up across London. That is what a strong launch campaign should do: give a new brand enough visibility to become part of the environment, while giving the audience a reason to remember it.
